From coach to administrator back to coach. That’s the path for Chad Kirkhart who was approved recently by the Hilldale school board as the new head football coach for the Hornets.
Kirkhart, who played high school ball at Fort Gibson, coached at Haskell before coming to Hilldale as an assistant for the late Don Hendrix. When Hendrix died unexpectedly, Kirkhart took over and ran the football program from 2010-2017 amassing a record of 74-23 with three district championships.
Following his coaching stint, Kirkhart moved to the Hilldale administration where has served as the assistant superintendent watching his three daughters Katie, Kenzie and Karlie all have successful golfing careers for the Hornets.
